Family, diapering, breastfeeding, crafting, couponing, sewing, painting, woodworking, poetry and everything in-between. Keep up with me as I try to do be four places at once with three wonderful children, juggling at least two activities at one time!

WINNING
Who doesn't love to win? Even when you are not a competitive person by nature, there is something so very satisfying about winning something. For awhile, I was entering all sorts of sweepstakes and such and doing pretty well. Nearly every week I was winning something. Often it was a coupon for a free item, such as yoghurt or cereal, sometimes it was a gift card or candy or a full size bottle of shampoo. I even won my husband a pair of jeans several months ago. When I started back up with college classes, I had less time and stopped entering contests. I took advantage of "Fall Break" this week and spent a few hours entering giveaways. I have won and already received a collector's edition issue of Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks magazine with some beautiful blocks from some of my favorite quilters. I can't wait to try some of them out. Today, I was notified I won a quilting book "Deploy That Fabric". This book gives quilting patterns to make use of military uniform fabric, mostly by mixing them with everyday fabric to create quilts, bags, stockings, so many things. Hmmmm, now to get my hands on some unused uniforms. I think a trip to GoodWill is in order the next time I visit my friend who lives near Camp LeJeune. I am really looking forward to reviewing the book after I receive it and can try out a pattern, with or without uniform fabric.
